Jenn 2

Same shoot of Jenn for Classified Cosmetics. We did eleven different setups. I’ll try to show many of them here because we got some very nice stuff. This was later in the day than the image in the last post. I had started using my Octa bank in place of the white reflector on the right to supplement the available light.

Jenn

I shot Jenn for Classified Cosmetics. She isn’t a model, but works at one of the spas where my client sells their product. We shot for two long days at Classified’s warehouse and shot almost all daylight the first day and studio the second. It was nice to concentrate on the subject instead of all the equipment for a day.

Lisa Foiles 2

Lisa has gone back to her natural hair color. It seems there are way too many young blondes in Hollywood these days. Out here in Los Angeles, we have a season that they don’t have in other parts of the country. It’s called pilot season and it’s the time of year when the television studios cast for, and film, new TV shows to see what’s going to get picked up for next season. Many pilots are filmed and only a few actually see the light of day. Let’s all wish Lisa good luck so that her new look will help her become a household name next year!

Morgan

If you use a ring light on occasion, try to give it a different spin. We don’t need to see that ring light shadow every time. This is Morgan, shot for Nailpro Magazine. It’s hard to tell on a small image like this, but the lips are covered with glitter to match the dress and nails (not shown here) for the story. I only mention that because some that have seen this small have asked what’s wrong with her lips. It looks very cool on the mag cover or a big print.

Lindsay

Sorry, another picture from the old blog. This one intrigued me to post it again in a different format because I had just noticed how obvious her color contacts are in this picture. I was going to say that the eyes were not enlarged in Photoshop, but if you look at the shape of her irises, they look oblong which would make it seem like I was lying. Well, the reason they look oblong is because the contacts have slid down a little making the shape of the irises strange. Anyway, it’s the truth, there is no major Photoshop on this shot other than my usual touchups which are very light here. I think I lightened the whites of her eyes a little too much, but it kinda adds to the drama of the shot, so I’ll leave it be. Oh, it’s a wig. More NEW stuff up next.

Gigantor!

Well, I’ve been contemplating putting some images up here that I had originally posted on my original blog over a year ago in some other crop or treatment for a while. This is the first. Visitors that are new to my work will see these as new, but I hope that even those that have seen some of the images before will enjoy the new perspective on them. This is a “portrait” of one of my favorite all time cartoon characters in action figure form. His name is Tetsujin, but kids in America knew him as Gigantor.

Lucila

Lucila was one of those models that was so cool that you want to hang out with her and listen to her cute accent all day. I shot this during a cover shoot for Dayspa Magazine. I hope I can shoot her again as we never had the chance to scratch the surface of what she can bring to a shoot. This was one of those days where we didn’t have the room or time to create something great. We just had to get the job done and make it look good. That’s how it goes a lot of the time.

Chris Gerolmo

How’s this for something different from me? I shot this portrait of screen writer Chris Gerolmo for part of a story in Australian GQ magazine. Chris wrote the series Over There that was on the FX channel for a short stint, but has been picked up in Australia, hence the story. The set for the show is in the hills above Chatsworth not far from my studio. The day of the shoot was beautiful until we got on top of that hill and found that the wind was blowing about forty or fifty miles per hour. It was so bad that I couldn’t set up any equipment and had to shoot from the hip whenever the wind died down for a split second. I shot another part of the story at another set called Blue Cloud Movie Ranch the next day that I’ve posted images from on the Fauxtoblog.

Celetsa

Once again, I make a model stay late so I can indulge myself in a little portraiture. Celesta was a sport though.
