Jimmy Douglass

I shot Jimmy for a JBL Pro ad. This is not the ad… That is coming soon, but I did a little portrait of him right afterward. He’s a recording engineer and a fascinating man with great stories, including one about helping Jimmy Page cut the guitar solo in Heart Breaker and making a mistake that Jimmy Page told him to leave in. He’s recorded everyone from Aretha Franklin to the last Justin Timberlake record. He’s now working on a surround sound mix of Justin’s record and using JBL monitors for that mix.

Yvonne

This was shot for a Dayspa Magazine cover story called “Tapping Into Energy.” The main model is Yvonne and the hand model is Cristen. The pose depicts the treatment called Reiki where the practitioner places his or her hands on or above (within the energy field) the client’s fully clothed body. And… then other stuff happens that I have no idea about. 🙂

Lucky Bastard Wearing Glasses

I had a small party here the other night. I invited a few photographers that I had not met in person and it was a blast. This is Lucky. You may have seen his blog before My Lucky Life (18+). Lucky was very cool and he brought his own Bud Light because all I had was snobby beer in the fridge. 🙂

Aradia

Aradia came from Arizona to shoot with a few photographers. The day before me, Ken Marcus. The day after me, Steve Diet Goedde. Then off to my friend Sita Mae Edwards. I’m keeping good company these days. 🙂

Mecca

This was for the cover of Dayspa Magazine. All day spent on a ladder looking around at all the little people below me. That’s the life! Really, it’s just hotter up there, and more dangerous the older I get. You may remember Mecca from the portrait I posted of her. I shot that portrait at the end of this job.

Frank W Ockenfels 3 (part 1)

This is part 1 of my diptych of Frank that I shot in Santa Fe during the workshop. I’m posting two images at the same time so make sure to click on the image to see part two. Unlike most of my portraits, these two images show someone hamming it up. Frank has many faces, and these are just two of them. 🙂
Once you click on the image to see part 2, make sure to use you back and forward buttons for animated fun.

Frank W Ockenfels 3 (part 2)

This is part 2 of my diptych of Frank that I shot in Santa Fe during the workshop. His wife calls this kitty tongue. It might give you a little hint about his sense of humor. 🙂

Catherine

Catherine came down from Oregon. She was very cool. I love shooting people when they’re just fun to hang out with at the same time. We did tons of nudes, but I thought I’d keep it work safe for a bit longer. If you know about my Flickr page, then you can see some there. This was part of my ongoing rule to not turn on strobes for portraits for a while. It’s been fun using hot lights for a change.

Matthew

I shot London, a nude art model today… This is not her. 🙂 This is Matt and he has been driving around the country with London on a art nude road trip to end all road trips. I thought I would mix it up and put a male on here because there are more women to come. You can see what they’re up to on London’s road trip blog.

Nev

Nev is a nude art model. She does not do it for money. She does it for art. That seems strange in this commercial world. I shot nudes of her that will show up here eventually, but we also did some fun stuff for my upcoming music portfolio.
